HEALTH CENTRE
The University
Health Centre shifted to its own new building premises on the 3rd
of March, 2008. The University is making all efforts to provide good
medical facilities to the staff and students of the University.
The centre, apart
from providing general out-patient and First-aid facilities also
caters to emergency services. Various awareness campaigns for
primary health care with focus on ‘Student Awareness’ were conducted
with special emphasis on the benefits of proper nutrition.
General screening
for ‘high –risk’ cases for diabetes, hypertension and hyper
cholesterolemia was regularly performed and cases were appropriately
followed up, counseled and treated. Between 31st March,
2007 and 31st March, 2008 nine hundred and forty nine
(949) cases were followed up and treated and 195 cases were
screened.
In order to provide
better facilities the centre proposes to expand the existing
building with provision for fire hazard safety and state of the art
facilities for patients.
The general dictum
‘Prevention is better than cure’ is followed by the Centre with
co-operative and polite staff to cater to the needs of staff and
students. The Health Center is headed by Dr. Hashmi.
