About The Center :

Centre for Urdu Language, Literature & Culture (CULLC) was established with the approval of University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, at Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad with the aims to promote and protect the aesthetic and cultural values of Urdu Language, Literature and its historical consciousness. The foundation stone of the building was laid by Prof. Saifuddin Soz, the then Hon’ble Minister of Water Resources on 27th April, 2006 at that time it was called “Urdu Museum”. Later it was renamed as Centre for Urdu Language, Literature & Culture (CULLC) and the newly constructed building was inaugurated by Prof. A. R. Qidwai, the then Hon’ble Governor of Haryana on the occasion of 2nd Convocation of MANUU held on 16th June, 2007.

The Centre is established with the mission to develop it as a combination of archives, museum, library, cultural research institution and wishes to be perceived as an authority in Urdu Language, Literature & Culture both in terms of collection of hard and soft materials.

On December 12, 2016, the Centre for Urdu Language Literature & Culture (CULLC) was renamed as Centre for Urdu Culture Studies vide a Notification of teh Registrar, MANUU.
