For overall development and to carry out all extra needs of the Students, the Department maintains many extracurricular activities. Following are such some activities:
- Wall Magazine:
The students of the Department have started a Wall Magazine in Urdu language by name “Islami Mutala‘at”. They actively participate in this magazine to develop and enrich their writing skills. The first issue was released on 28th April 2015. It got praises by many teachers and staff members of the University.
This colourful magazine is of four pages. And it is now being issued Bi-Monthly and the students are utilizing it as a platform to sharpen their creative writing abilities.
- Journal of Islami Mutala‘at:
From the academic year 2015-16, the Research Scholars of the Department have started a Yearly Journal by name of “Journal of Islami Mutala‘at”. The first issue of this journal has been released by Dr. Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, the Honorable Vice Chancellor of MANUU on 28th April 2016.
- Departmental Lectures:
The Department also organizes Departmental Lectures. The list of such lectures is as follows:
- Professor Mohd Masood delivered lectured on on “Personality Development” on 28th February 2017.
- Mr. Abdul Mujeeb Khan (Chairman Tamkeen Solution, Hyderabad), delivered a lecture on “Employability Skills” on 7th March 2017.
- Mr. Abdul Mujeeb Khan (Chairman Tamkeen Solution, Hyderabad), delivered a lecture on “Personality Development” on 27th April 2016.
- Mr. Syed Basheeruddin Imran (Director IHEPM), delivered a lecture on “Employability Skills” on 21st April 2016.
- Mufti Abdul Batin Nomani (Khateeb, Giyan Vapi Masjid, Banaras), delivered his lecture on “Hindu-Muslim Unity: In the Light of Varanasi-Experiences” on 7th January 2015.
- Dr. Aleem Ashraf (Dept. of Arabic, MANUU), delivered his lecture on “Academic Research: Its Importance and Historical Development, with Reference to Islamic Studies” on 19th September 2014.
- Prof. Sanaullah Nadvi (Dept. Of Arabic AMU), delivered a lecture on “Islam and Orientalists” on 5th September 2014.
- Extension lectures:
The Department occasionally invites eminent scholars of different aspect of knowledge to deliver Extension Lectures on different topics. Following lectures have been delivered so far:
- Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani (eminent scholar from Hyderabad) delivered his lecture on “Islamic Shariah and Plural Society- Indian Context” on 9th March 2017
- Professor Ishtiyaque Danish (HoD Islamic Studies, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi) delivered his lecture on “Meddle East and West – in Modern Era” on 20th March 2016.
- Professor Iqtedar Mohd Khan (Head Department of Islamic Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi), delivered his lecture on "Azad Hindustan Men Muslim Tahreeken" on 19th February 2016.
- Maulana Shah Mohmmad Fasihuddin Nezami (Director of Kutub khana, Jamia, Nezamia, Hyderabad), delivered his lecture on “Islamic Sources: Introduction and Methods to Utilize” on 25th March 2015.
- Mulana Khalid Saifullah Rhmani (Gen. Secretary Islamic Fiqh Academy India, Delhi), delivered lecture on “Islamic Principles of Co-Existence and Contemporary Demands” on 29th January 2015.
- Prof. Bruce B. Lawrence (Eminent American Scholar and Adjunct Prof. in Civilization Studies, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University, Istanbul), delivered his lecture on “Muslim Immigrants in American Religious Life” on 3rd September 2014.
